Direct seeding is an option for broadacre revegetation where it can be time-consuming or too expensive to use tubestock. Natural State operates a direct seeding service where we travel all over South Australia. There are a few options with our machinery depending on your site.
Option 1- A Burford Tree Seeder can be towed behind a 4WD; where a disc pushes aside the topsoil, a spring tyne drops seed into the scrape mark and then a press wheel pushes it in.
Option 2- A tractor pulls a V-blade seeder behind; the topsoil is scraped away to allow greater penetration of rain and dew, seed is dropped through a pipe followed by the press wheel.
Every site is unique, so we offer a site inspection as part of our service. This will assist in choosing the best revegetation method and machinery for your site as well as advising on the most appropriate species.
